Hosseinabad rugs originate from the Hamadan region of the Middle East, an area with a storied history of village weaving that spans centuries. These rugs are highly regarded for their sturdy construction and the distinct, often geometric, design language that reflects the local traditions of the weavers who produce them.

The craftsmanship behind these rugs is defined by a deep understanding of natural materials and time-honoured techniques passed down through generations. Using Wool for the pile and a sturdy Cotton foundation, these rugs are built to withstand the demands of daily use, a hallmark of the regional style that prioritises long-term resilience.

Visually, these rugs often feature intricate, repeating motifs and bold borders that draw inspiration from the surrounding landscape and ancient cultural symbols. While they share common characteristics of the region, each piece often includes unique artistic flourishes, making them highly sought after by those who appreciate the intersection of utility and folk art.

Owning a piece from this tradition is an opportunity to connect with a rich heritage of craft. These rugs are valued not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for the human story embedded in every strand of Wool, representing a legacy of skill that remains a vital part of the regional identity today.

This runner is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused effort to bring the intricate design to life. The process begins by securing the Cotton foundation, upon which thousands of individual knots are tied by hand, ensuring the pattern remains sharp and the structure remains durable.

With a weight of 14.6 kg distributed over its generous dimensions, this rug demonstrates a high level of material density and robust construction. The substantial weight is a direct result of the intensive labour and high volume of Wool required to create such a durable, long-lasting floor covering.

The precision required to maintain consistency across such a large runner is a testament to the artisan's expertise. Every knot is placed with intention, resulting in a pile that is not only dense and comfortable but also highly resilient to the rigours of everyday home life, ensuring your investment remains protected by its own superior build.
