Hosseinabad rugs originate from the Hamadan region in the Middle East, an area renowned for its long history of weaving. These rugs are typically produced in village settings, where families have passed down their design motifs and weaving techniques through generations.

The craft of these rugs is defined by their sturdy construction and the use of high-quality Wool. The weavers often utilise a single-weft technique, which is a hallmark of the region and results in a slightly more flexible yet resilient foundation that is well-suited for everyday use.

Visually, these rugs are often recognised by their bold, geometric patterns and deep, saturated colour palettes. The field is frequently adorned with classic medallion designs or repeating floral motifs, framed by intricate borders that reflect the local artistic traditions of the weavers.

Collectors value these rugs for their authenticity and the way they capture the spirit of their origin. Owning a piece from this tradition means connecting with a living craft, where every rug serves as a testament to the skill and cultural identity of the people who created it.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted, a process that requires immense patience and precision from the artisan. By tying each individual knot by hand, the weaver ensures a level of structural integrity that machines simply cannot match, resulting in a pile that is exceptionally durable.

Given the substantial weight of 27.2 kg and a large surface area of approximately 6.47 m2, the creation of this rug represents hundreds of hours of focused labour. This dense construction is what gives the finished piece its characteristic weight and premium feel.

The density of the construction is a direct indicator of the time and care invested in its creation. Every knot contributes to the clarity of the pattern and the longevity of the rug, ensuring that the investment in traditional craft translates into a durable, high-quality addition to your home.
