Hosseinabad rugs originate from the Hamadan region of the Middle East, a historic area renowned for its long-standing tradition of weaving. These rugs are deeply connected to the local culture, where weaving has been a central part of family life for generations, often drawing upon motifs passed down through oral history and local design customs.

The term Hosseinabad refers to a specific style of weaving within this broader tradition, often recognised for its sturdy construction and bold, geometric interpretation of classic motifs. The use of high-quality Wool ensures that these rugs possess a natural lustre and a resilience that has made them prized by households looking for both beauty and practical longevity.

Visually, these runners are defined by their repeating geometric patterns and earthy, saturated tones. They often feature a central medallion or a sequence of intricate floral motifs enclosed by a detailed border, showcasing a harmonious balance between complexity and structure. Each rug is a testament to the weaver's ability to adapt traditional designs into a cohesive and captivating visual narrative.

Collectors value these rugs for their authenticity and the human story woven into every thread. Owning a Hosseinabad rug is an investment in a craft that prioritises skill and tradition over mass production. It provides a tangible connection to the artistry of the Middle East, offering a level of character and heritage that mass-produced items simply cannot replicate.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused effort to bring each design to life. The process involves tying individual knots by hand onto a sturdy foundation, a technique that requires immense patience and precision to ensure the pattern remains crisp and the structure remains sound.

With a weight of 10.4 kg across its 392 x 76 cm frame, this runner demonstrates a substantial density that speaks to the quality of the materials used. The significant weight is a direct result of the high volume of Wool packed into the weave, confirming that this piece is built to be a durable and lasting addition to your home.

The time-intensive nature of hand-knotting ensures that every inch of the rug is carefully considered. By avoiding the shortcuts of machine-made production, the artisans create a surface that is far more robust and vibrant, ensuring that the rug maintains its integrity and visual appeal for many years to come.
