Hosseinabad rugs originate from the Hamadan region in the Middle East, an area with a profound and long-standing tradition of weaving. These rugs are often produced in smaller villages where the craft has been passed down through generations, maintaining a connection to the nomadic and semi-nomadic roots of the region's textile history.

The term Hosseinabad refers to a specific design tradition that is highly regarded for its sturdy construction and vibrant, earthy colour palettes. The wool used in these rugs is typically sourced locally, known for its resilience and ability to take deep, saturated dyes, which contributes to the longevity and distinctive character of the final piece.

Visually, these rugs are defined by their bold geometric motifs, often featuring repeating medallion or diamond patterns that cover the field. The borders are usually well-defined and complement the central design, creating a balanced and harmonious aesthetic that is instantly recognisable to collectors and enthusiasts of regional Middle Eastern weaving.

Owning a Hosseinabad rug is an invitation into a rich cultural narrative. They are collected not only for their visual appeal but also for the skill and heritage they represent. Each piece is a tangible link to a centuries-old craft, making it an essential addition for anyone who values the beauty of handmade items and the history woven into every fibre.

This runner is meticulously hand-knotted, a process that requires immense patience and steady precision. By tying each individual knot by hand, the artisan ensures a structural integrity that machine-made rugs simply cannot match, resulting in a pile that is exceptionally dense and resilient.

With a weight of 10.9 kg across its 388 x 80 cm surface, this rug displays a significant amount of material and labour. This weight is a testament to the high density of the wool pile and the solid foundation, ensuring that the rug stays securely in place while offering a deep, luxurious feel that signals true craftsmanship.

The creation of such a detailed runner involves hundreds of thousands of individual knots, requiring weeks of dedicated work from a skilled weaver. This slow, deliberate process is what gives the finished piece its characteristic durability and the distinct sharpness of its geometric motifs, justifying its status as a premium, long-lasting investment for your home.
