KunduzHand KnottedRug

Black / Brown192 x 295 cm

Kunduz rugs trace their origins to the northern region of Afghanistan, centered around the historic trading town of Kunduz. This area has long been a melting pot of weaving cultures, where traditional Afghan design meets regional nomadic influences.

The visual language of Kunduz rugs is defined by deep, warm tones, traditionally dominated by rich reds and dark blues. The field is typically filled with repeating floral motifs and geometric medallions, framed by detailed, multi-layered borders.

Highly valued by collectors and homemakers alike, these rugs represent a living heritage of Middle Eastern weaving. Owning a Kunduz rug is not just about choosing a floor covering, but about bringing a piece of cultural history and enduring skill into your daily life.

This rug is hand-knotted by skilled artisans in Afghanistan, a process requiring immense patience and precision. Every single knot is tied individually by hand, representing months of dedicated craftsmanship that no machine can ever replicate.

Weighing 17 kg and measuring 295 x 192 cm, the substantial weight of this piece reflects the dense, high-quality construction of its wool pile. This solid build ensures the rug lies flat on your floor and maintains its structure and beauty over years of use.
