The rich, layered composition of blues and blacks draws the eye, showcasing a sophisticated geometric design that anchors a space without overwhelming it. Because each piece is crafted as a unique work of art, you are acquiring a rug that exists nowhere else in the world, ensuring your home reflects a truly individual aesthetic.

Rooted in the storied traditions of the Middle East, this rug carries a sense of heritage and enduring quality. The natural materials used in its construction are selected for their resilience and ability to soften beautifully over time, promising a piece that remains a central part of your home for years to come.

Owning this one-of-a-kind creation means embracing the variations and artistic choices made during its creation. No two rugs are ever identical, meaning the specific depth of colour and placement of geometric motifs you see here are exclusive to this exact piece, making it a rare find for those who value authenticity.

Loribaft rugs are a modern evolution of the traditional tribal weaving practices found in the mountainous regions of the Middle East. They draw inspiration from the nomadic lifestyle of the Luri tribes, who have long been celebrated for their ability to create rugs that are both functional and deeply expressive of their natural surroundings.

The term 'Fine' in this context refers to the elevated knotting technique employed by the artisans. By increasing the knot density compared to traditional tribal counterparts, these weavers are able to achieve a more refined, polished look while retaining the soulful, organic character that makes these pieces so highly sought after by collectors.

Visually, these rugs are defined by their use of bold, simplified geometric motifs and a deep, saturated colour palette. While traditional pieces often relied on earthy tones, modern iterations frequently experiment with striking contrasts like the deep blue and black seen here, creating a bridge between ancient design languages and contemporary interiors.

Collectors value these rugs not only for their aesthetic beauty but for the connection they offer to a vanishing way of life. Each rug acts as a canvas for the weaver's personal vision, representing a heritage of skill passed down through generations. Owning a Loribaft Fine piece is an investment in cultural history and a celebration of human ingenuity.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans, a process that requires immense patience and precision. By individually tying each knot, the weaver ensures a level of structural integrity and pattern clarity that simply cannot be achieved through mechanical means.

With a density of 160,000 knots per square metre, this rug represents hundreds of hours of focused human effort. This high knot count is the key to its exceptional durability and the sharp definition of its geometric design, resulting in a pile that is not only dense and luxurious but also built to withstand the demands of daily life.

The substantial weight of 32.9 kg across its 8.24 square metre surface further speaks to the quality of the materials and the density of the knotting. This weight is a testament to the generous use of premium fibres, which provides the rug with its characteristic heft and ensures it stays firmly in place while maintaining its shape and beauty over time.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
