Loribaft Fine - A Warm Addition to Your Home

This one-of-a-kind Loribaft Fine rug brings authentic Middle Eastern artistry into your living space with its rich, vibrant tones and deep, inviting pile.

Experience the comfort of this authentic Loribaft Fine rug, a piece that brings warmth and character to any room. With its thick, plush pile, it provides a soft surface underfoot and excellent sound-dampening qualities, making your home feel that much more cosy and grounded.

The rug features a rich palette of deep red and dark blue, tones that interact beautifully to create a sense of depth and movement. Because each rug is a unique, one-of-a-kind creation, the specific placement of these colours and the subtle variations in the weave ensure that your rug is truly your own and will never be replicated elsewhere.

Crafted from premium Wool, the material offers natural resilience and a tactile experience that only improves with time. The density of the construction provides a substantial feel that signals quality, ensuring this piece remains a comfortable and beautiful part of your home for many years to come.

Whether placed in a quiet study or a busy living room, this rug serves as a striking focal point. Its ability to anchor a space while adding a layer of sophisticated, traditional texture makes it a versatile choice for those who appreciate the beauty of hand-crafted items.

Loribaft rugs originate from the nomadic tribes of the Middle East, particularly the Luri people. These rugs are celebrated for their evolution from functional, utilitarian floor coverings into sophisticated pieces of textile art that capture the spirit and nomadic heritage of their weavers.

The term 'Loribaft' refers to a specific style of weaving that emphasises a thicker, more generous pile compared to other regional traditions. This technical choice is significant because it results in a rug that is exceptionally comfortable and durable, designed originally to provide insulation against the rugged terrain of the highlands.

Visually, these rugs are defined by their bold use of colour and simplified, stylized motifs. While many traditional rugs rely on intricate floral patterns, the Loribaft tradition favours a more abstract or geometric approach, often using stripes and small, scattered decorative elements that highlight the natural quality of the Wool.

Owning a Loribaft Fine rug is an opportunity to connect with a long-standing craft tradition. These pieces are highly valued by collectors for their authenticity and the skill required to produce them, representing a commitment to preserving cultural techniques that have been passed down through generations.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused effort to bring every detail to life. The process begins with the careful preparation of fine Wool, which is then knotted onto a sturdy foundation to ensure maximum durability and a consistent, luxurious pile.

With a density of 160,000 knots per m2, this rug represents a significant investment of time and precision. This high knot count is essential for achieving the crispness of the design and the density of the Wool, resulting in a floor covering that is built to withstand daily use while maintaining its refined appearance.

The weight of 3.8 kg across its 116 x 82 cm dimensions is a testament to the quality of materials used and the tightness of the weave. This weight provides the rug with a stable, heavy drape that stays securely in place, reflecting the intensive labour and deep expertise required to produce a piece of this calibre.

Lana
