The rug is crafted from high-quality wool, which is naturally durable and resistant to wear, ensuring that it remains a beautiful focal point for years to come. The rich, layered colour palette of red and dark-blue creates a striking visual depth that feels both grounded and sophisticated in any interior setting.

Because each of these rugs is entirely one-of-a-kind, you are acquiring a piece that exists nowhere else in the world. No two rugs are identical, meaning your specific piece will never be replicated, offering you a rare opportunity to own a work of functional art that carries the unique signature of its creator.

Rooted in the storied weaving traditions of the Middle East, this rug brings a sense of heritage and authentic craft into your living space. It is a considered choice for those who value the character that only a hand-knotted item can provide, blending traditional artistry with a presence that feels perfectly at home in modern interiors.

The Loribaft style originates from the nomadic tribes of the Middle East, specifically the Luri people. These rugs are celebrated for their thick, luxurious pile and their deep connection to the landscapes and cultural motifs of the region, evolving over centuries from utilitarian nomadic floor coverings into highly coveted interior design pieces.

The term 'Fine' in this context refers to the elevated standard of weaving and the careful selection of high-quality wool. By using traditional, long-staple wool, the artisans create a pile that is not only soft to the touch but also possesses a natural sheen and resilience that improves with age, making it a practical and beautiful choice for a home.

Visually, Loribaft rugs are known for their bold, often minimalist or tribal-inspired patterns. While some designs feature complex geometric symbols, others emphasise the beauty of the wool itself through rich, saturated colour blocking or subtle variations in tone. This particular piece showcases a striking striped composition that highlights the depth of the dye and the texture of the weave.

Owning a Loribaft rug is about more than just decor; it is about preserving a piece of cultural history. These rugs are highly valued by collectors for their authentic hand-crafted nature and the skill required to maintain consistent tension and pattern accuracy across the entire surface without the aid of modern equipment.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused effort to its creation. By tying each individual knot by hand, the weavers ensure a level of density and precision that machines simply cannot replicate, resulting in a pile that is exceptionally resilient and consistent in its quality.

The 160,000 knots per m2 density is a testament to the thousands of hours invested in this piece. This high knot count is crucial for the sharpness of the design and the long-term durability of the rug, as it creates a compact structure that maintains its shape and beauty even with daily use in your home.

Weighing 4.5 kg, the substantial construction of this rug reflects the significant amount of premium wool used in its foundation. This weight is a key indicator of its superior quality and the labour-intensive nature of its production, ensuring that you are investing in a durable piece that is built to last for generations.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
