Loribaft - A Warm and Grounded Foundation for Your Home

Discover the charm of this one-of-a-kind hand-knotted rug, featuring rich, earthy tones and a rustic design that brings warmth and character to any living space.

This unique hand-knotted rug invites a sense of calm and comfort into your home. With its rich, vibrant field and carefully placed decorative motifs, it serves as a grounded focal point that anchors a room while providing a soft, tactile surface underfoot.

Crafted from 100% Wool, the rug offers a generous 20 mm pile height, ensuring a plush and welcoming feel. Its substantial weight provides excellent sound absorption and natural insulation, making it an ideal choice for creating a cosy atmosphere in your living area or bedroom.

As a truly one-of-a-kind piece, this rug is a singular creation that will never be replicated. Owning it means bringing home an authentic work of art that is as functional as it is beautiful, reflecting a deep tradition of Middle Eastern craftsmanship that values both durability and style.

The depth of the wool and the careful construction ensure that this rug will remain a cherished part of your home for years to come. Because each piece is unique, the slight variations in tone and texture are a testament to its individual character, ensuring that your space remains distinctive.

Loribaft rugs originate from the tribal traditions of the Middle East, specifically associated with the nomadic peoples who have woven rugs for generations as part of their daily life. These rugs are renowned for their rustic, artistic appeal and their ability to bring a sense of history and human connection into modern interiors.

The name itself reflects a style that prioritises a thicker, more luxurious pile compared to traditional flat-woven rugs. This construction choice is deliberate, aiming to provide superior comfort and warmth, which is essential for the nomadic environments where these techniques were originally perfected.

Visually, these pieces are often defined by their bold, geometric motifs and the use of natural dyes that create deep, lasting colours. The patterns are not merely decorative but often tell stories or represent the cultural identity of the weavers, with each rug serving as a canvas for traditional designs that have been passed down through centuries.

Collectors value these rugs for their authenticity and the sheer skill required to produce them without the aid of modern machinery. Owning a piece from this tradition is an investment in heritage, representing a bridge between ancient craft practices and the contemporary home.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused effort to each creation. The process involves tying thousands of individual knots to build a dense and resilient structure, ensuring that the finished product can withstand daily use while maintaining its shape and beauty over time.

The 13.6 kg weight of this 203 x 167 cm piece is a clear indicator of the high density of the materials used. The significant amount of wool required to achieve this level of thickness and durability speaks to the immense labour and precision involved in its making, resulting in a floor covering that is built to last for generations.

Wolle
