The rug is crafted from high-quality Wool, offering a soft and tactile experience underfoot. Its natural fibres provide excellent insulation, making your living area feel significantly warmer and more comfortable, especially during cooler seasons.

Designed with a dense pile, this piece is built to withstand daily life while maintaining its charm. The quality of the Wool ensures that the rug remains a durable, lasting addition to your home decor, providing a reliable foundation for years to come.

The intricate patterns typical of this Middle Eastern tradition create a visually captivating focal point in any room. Its presence helps to soften the acoustics of your living space, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere that is perfect for relaxing or hosting guests.

The Senneh rug tradition originates from the Sanandaj region, located in the mountainous areas of the Middle East. Historically, this region has been a vibrant centre for textile arts, where weavers have long been celebrated for their ability to create rugs of exceptional finesse and complex design.

The term Senneh refers to a specific weaving tradition known for its unique structural characteristics. The knotting technique used in these rugs is particularly refined, allowing for a tight, durable foundation that supports intricate detailing and a soft, resilient pile that feels luxurious to the touch.

Visually, these rugs are often defined by their sophisticated use of space. While they frequently incorporate a central medallion or a dense all-over pattern of repeating motifs, they are admired for their balanced proportions and the harmonious way they integrate varied, earthy colour palettes.

Collectors value these rugs for their cultural heritage and the incredible skill required to produce them. Acquiring a Senneh piece is an opportunity to own a fragment of a long-standing tradition, representing a commitment to quality and the preservation of artisanal techniques.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted, a process that requires immense patience and skill from the artisan. By tying each individual knot by hand, the weaver ensures a level of precision and structural integrity that simply cannot be achieved through machine production.

With a density of 160,000 knots per m2, this rug represents a significant investment of human labour. This high knot count allows for the sharp, detailed rendering of the geometric design and ensures a robust pile that will hold its shape and beauty over time.

The construction process for a piece of this size and density takes many weeks of focused work. This dedicated craftsmanship is evident in the final weight of 2.7 kg, which reflects the substantial amount of high-quality material woven into the foundation of the rug.
